Whitby Eagles Butler
Strike Gold at Pennsbury!!!
The Whitby Eagles Butler team won Gold this weekend at the 2008 Pennsbury tournament in Yardley Pa.
The team won 4 out of 5 games with a combined score of 28 - 11. The only loss was a one run heartbreaker to a very strong Delaware team. Regardless, the team went undefeated or all the other games and came out first in the bracket winning the gold.
The team only committed 2 errors the entire weekend. The stellar defense picked up great pitching efforts from Nicole Hayes, Kathryn Eberlin and Ching pick-up Heather Paquette. Offensively, there were 4 girls that batted over 500 for the weekend, and every single girl contributed to a very potent offence.
There were many scouts at the event, and there was a lot of activity with the girls. Every single girl on the team had someone inquire about them. The management was very busy answering questions and making connections.
Special thanks goes out to all the Ching players that joined us to complete the roster, Heather Paquette, Hayley Buchanan, Jill Finleyson and Brittany Halfyard. A very special thank you to Ching coach Glenn Halfyard who was invaluable to all of us on and off the field.
